Quarantine & Our Health… the Final Frontier!!



Well it’s officially been half a year that we’ve been quarantined. Think about that, guys!! We’re 6 month in… so what have we learned?




Here are my top three lessons learned in Quarantine:


1. The most important & poignant lesson? Literally NOTHING matters except our health.


I turned 40 in quarantine, and George turned 60. We have two little kiddos… all we want is to live our longest, best life possible... together. In addition to lifestyle choices, we’re constantly seeking ways to bolster our immune systems, fight off free radicals, and help our bodies function their best.

I used to have zero skin care routine, and now that I’m 40, I actually have to pay attention to it (heeeeelp!), but luckily I’ve discovered there is nothing that helps deliver a great complexion better than good ‘ol H2o!








3. The Three Ss - Schedule, Sleep, Stretching


These all go together for me… I used to run around NYC like a chicken with my head cut off! I started my day at 5am, hit the gym (or 2… or 3!) and was on my way, schlepping my gym bag around from meeting to event until the day’s end…





Quarantine has actually led me to a much kinder, gentler, simpler way of life… and WHO KNEW?? I actually dig it!


Jumping into how the three Ss apply to my life today:

  1. Schedule - I anchor my day around my workouts. An 8:30am workout starts my day, everyday (run 3x weekly, the rest of the days are classes). A 5:30pm yoga or stretch regrounds me and closes out my day, designating the divide between “work Jamie” and “family Jamie.

  2. Sleep - I used to pride myself on “needing only a little sleep” - now I wear the “8 hour” badge with pride! In bed by 9:30, lights off by 10. Wake between 6 - 6:30. It’s revolutionary!

  3. Stretch - I used to force myself to dive right into my 6am class at SoulCycle or Barry’s Bootcamp. I am gentler with my body now… I know it needs some extra love, because let’s be honest… times are harsh enough today.
